сарапул, A Place of Money

Sarapul is located in Udmurt Republic. It is 66 km from Izhevsk. It takes only one hour to go there from izhevsk. Sarapul is a city near Kama River. Just like Izhevsk, Sarapul is an industrial city too. There are more than 100 000 people live in this city.

Here are some places I visited when I was in Sarapul.

1. Kama River
This city is not that big. You can see the big river from across the street. This river is big and the stream is kind of hard. Along the river, there are some benches you can sit on, and some stairs to the river. You can feed doves there and if you are lucky you can meet seagull.

2. The Green Alley
If you walk along the river but against the stream, you can find a beautiful alley. Maybe for some people there is nothing special with the alley. But for me, this alley is beautiful and worth seeing *in summer especially. And after the alley, there is an old bridge, where some people do fishing.

3. The Merchant's house
There is a Merchant's house in Sarapul. It was build in 19 century if i'm not mistaken. But now, it is no longer a house but turn into a museum and restaurant. It has changed into commercial purpose.

4. Orthodox church
There is an orthodox church in Sarapul. It takes 15 minutes on foot from the merchant's house. The smell of this orthodox church is kind of different, not as strong as usual but still nice.

5. The Locomotive and The Wheat
There is a locomotive monument and the wheat in front of the сарапул воксал (Sarapul Train Station). There is a story behind it. When it was the second world war, Sarapul donated 1000 ton of bread to Moscow. Sarapul is famous with its bread.

6. The First Police Woman

7. The Oldest Orthodox Church

This church was destroyed in Uni Soviet Era. There was the tallest tower around 64 m, if im not mistaken. And at that time, there was the biggest bell. The priest, who gave a tour for us said, when the rang bell, it can be heard by all the people around the city.

8. The Newest Orthodox Church

This church is next to the oldest one. I can say it is the new version of the old church.
