Religion has been become a huge issues lately. It is because of the up coming president election next month.

For the past 20 years, religion has become the main caused of civil war in Indonesia. It makes me sad actually. Indonesia actually acknowledge the different in believing. It is stated at the symbol of the nation, Garuda. It says, BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA. In English, it means, harmony in diversity.

We acknowledge that we are different, we have our own believe. But why some people force others to be like their kind.

Talking about the religion column in personal ID. I fully agree that religion column is deleted. WHY? here, let me tell you the reasons.


1. Judge a person from his religion
There is a saying, dont judge a bok from its cover. It wont work easily. People tend to judge from what we do.

There is a person. He always throw garbage to the river.  coincidentally, he is a Muslim. And the community start to judge them. then generalize that all Muslim is stupid and lazy. HOW does that sound to you as a Muslim? just because one person does the wrong deed, all kind get the effect. ISNT IT STUPID???!!!!!

Be wise of judging a person, apart from his religion. See the person from the person itself. Try to put yourself in his shoes!

2. It is a private matters
Our relationship to our God is very private. It is our own business. Other people DO NOT have any rights to force us to do this and that. It is an individual decision to obey or not to obey the rule of his religion.

But what happened in society is the other way around. Some people tend to interfere what we do.  We have a slogan, TOLERANCE. We have heard this word since we are in elementary school. In civics, teacher taught us to be tolerance to others.

What happen to us now? where is our civics value? where does it go? or, we just forget about it and not apply the TOLERANCE!

3. proud of being believing in one of religions
If we are proud of being Muslim, we do not need to show off how proud we are. What is the point of showing off? Even our Allah SWT and our prophet prohibit us to show off. What we need to do is apply the Islamic values in our live. That is the one that really MATTERS.

We are the most populated Muslim Country in this world. BUT we fail to apply that in our community, in our daily life. Corruption and deforestation are the perfect example of our failure.

This life is not only about you, it is about others too. Keep the balance of the relationship between God, human kind, and the world itself.
