Places to Visit in Moscow, Russia

I have visited Moscow, Russia last week. I was there twice. First, when I arrived from Indonesia and the second one, when I was going to leave Russia. I was accompanied by Indah Larassakti, an Indonesian woman who are taking her master degree in Moscow State Pedagogical University. Here are the places we visited :)

1. Love Lock
Love lock is located in Luzhkov Bridge, Moscow, Russia. If I'm not mistaken, there are several steel strees where you can put your lock. When I was there, it was raining. The picture didn't come out good. Laras said that people who are couple or married, they put their lock in one of the lock trees then throw the key to the river. :)

2. St. Basil Museum
St. Basil is the main site I want to visit in Moscow. I remembered when I was a child, I saw an ensiklopedia book about Russia and there was a picture of St. Basil. At that time, I refer St. Basil as a castle for princess. I said to myself, one day, I have to visit it. And there I was.

St. Basil is located in Red Square, Moscow. The ticket price to get inside the St. Basil is 100 rub for student, 350 rub for adult or non student. There was a sad story behind the beauty of St. Basil. The workers who built it, they lost their eyes. It is because the architect was so afraid that the workers would make similar one with St. Basil.

I went there twice. First is at night with Denis from Belarus and Alex from Rostov-on-Don, Russia. We even took some pictures and St. Basil as the background.

3. Zero Point of Moscow
I just knew that Moscow has a zero point just like Kazan. It is located between the National Museum and the Red Square. At there, people stand in the middle and make a wish then throw a coin. They believe if they make a wish there, it will be granted.

4. Horse Rider
I forgot the name of the monument. But it is located near the zero point. The monument is kind of huge. When I was there, it was kind of raining and lots of tourists taking picture with him. :)

5. Eternal Flame

Eternal Flame is a forever fire that light up by gas. It is located next to the horse rider. In this site, they commemorate their heroes who died because of fighting for the nation in the first world war and the second world war. As far as I see, this eternal flame is the first eternal flame that guarded by some soldiers.
I asked Laras whether I can go closer to the fire or not. She said it I can as long as I have flowers with me. Since I didn't bring any flower with me, I just took picture in front of it. And I was asked to be taken picture together with the locals.

6. Balshoiya Theater
Balshoiya theater is the oldest and the biggest theater in Moscow. This kind of theater is like a theater with podium. Just like we saw in old European movies. The information I got from Laras, the cheapest ticket for this theater is 500 rub and the seat will be the furthest one from the stage. I didn't get inside because the price is kind of expensive and I don't really like theater. But if you do, there is nothing wrong to watch it.
7. Arbat Street
Arbat is the another place I really want to visit. I've been in Balman Street in Kazan and the similar street in Yekaterinburg. The street is not that long. In here, there is a monument of famous writer, Pushkin and his wife and also his house. I'm falling in love with Pushkin after I read his one of short stories, The Queen of Spades.
Along this street you can find souvenirs shops, street musician, beautiful old buildings, and some other attractions. I was expecting more statues and monuments from Arbat St. But it has less than the street in Yekaterinburg.

8. The National Science Library
For me this place is the most wanted one. I always curious about the library in other country. To get inside of this library you need to be the member first. You need to pay 100 rub.
