Heidi's Class - 2nd Meeting

Last Tuesday, we studied about politics as one of my classmate wanted to learn about it. We started by learning 3 Branches of US Government. Executive, Legislative, and Judicial are the branches of the US Government.

In executive, there are President and VP (Vice President) + his cabinet members, Treasurer (a department which handle the money circulation), Police Dept., and Military.

Legislative is the one who responsible for law (L in legislative is for Law). How to make a law? To make a law, you can deliver your idea to your representatives. Then when all the representative say YES, it will become bill. When the bill deliver to the president, he can say yes or no (VETO) to the bill. If he say no, the congress will make kind of editing at the bill. Next, the bill is delivered again to the president to get yes or VETO again. Lets check the video about Bill who wants to be a Law.

The congress as the responsible people at Legislative are selected by people. So, everyone has his own representative at congress. The congress members is divided into Senate and House of Representative. So, each state has two representative and since US has 50 states, the congress members is 100. Judicial is all about court and the highest court is supreme court. It has 9 special judges who will work for his/her entire live. Or they can resign for some reasons.
